Bone Density Studies
Bone Density studies are painless, non-invasive procedures that take no more than 30 minutes to complete. They use low radiation exposure to measure the mineral density of your bones. During the test you simply lay on a table. The table and scanner arm moves so scans can be taken of specific bones.
You are not "enclosed" by the machine like some MRI's, you will not feel anything and the tech stays with you throughout the procedure.
For the test, wear loose clothing, avoiding zippers, metal snaps or buckles. Let the tech know about any implants. Results should be ready to report by the next day
